WET SNOW AVALANCHES are possible in all steep terrain, except for the northerly upper elevations. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE at the mid elevations, where some snow layers are heating for the first time, and MODERATE on all other aspects and elevations. The danger of wet snow avalanches will peak during the heat of the day or any periods of more direct sun. The avalanche danger is also MODERATE on steep upper elevation slopes for triggering a slab of wind drifted snow, most widespread on slopes facing the north 1/2 of the compass.
The continuous steep terrain of the Provo area mountains magnifies any avalanche, with even small slides run huge distances, resulting in deep debris piles.
